Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of the TM technique for meditation, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2008. His teachings on meditation influenced by Beatles, Deepok Chopra, and millions of other people. Universities have been established throughout the world, all built on a foundation of meditation. What is the cause of how widely to spread his teachings? Is it meditation technique is a truly unique and effective method to achieve personal development and healing of the body mean?
Hindu Yoga Philosophy based
It is not uncommon in the Hindu spiritual tradition for there to be gurus, who provides spiritual guidance to followers. Most gurus developed a technique of meditation, that they have found works well, and they teach their students. Despite some differences in detail, meditation, mostly follows the standard formula, to focus on one point – what could be a visual point, breath, or a specific sound, or mantra – to the detriment of everything else. TM is no different. Guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, mostly managed by the teachings and meditation technique.
Another advantage of learning at the feet of Guru is that sometimes he or she will provide a mantra for you to use in your meditation or japa practice. Typically, it takes a lot of repetitions before you can create a significant amount of spiritual energy in a mantra. But the mantra of the guru have provided a high level of spiritual power to begin with, giving you the type of start. During the Maharishi, the student receives a spell that should “be in harmony with the student. It was a personal mantra that the student was not open to anyone else. In other guru-disciple arrangements mantra transferred pupil will also be kept private, to show respect for this gift.
Power of Mantra Meditation
Mantra repetition is an incredibly effective form of meditation. There is something that draws attention to the internal one into a deeper state of relaxation almost immediately.
Out of respect for tradition, I will not disclose personal mantra, but I will share some of them common, that many people use japa or meditation:
* Ohm: universal sound
* Om Namah shivaya: Om Shiva
* Om Sri Rama Jaya Rama Jaya Jaya Rama: Om Rama and Sita, Rama Victory
* Om mani padme ohm: the pearl of consciousness in the lotus of the heart.
Any of them can be used in meditation, with excellent results. It turns out that the mantra of teachers provided in accordance with the Maharishi is that the Eastern tradition call “Bija” or seed mantras. These single-syllable sounds that have no direct meaning, but is believed to be the spiritual power in the vibration of sound.
Internet has no shortage of sources of meditation instructions and techniques, but here are some basics, which, incidentally, is consistent with the technique of TM:
1. Sit in a comfortable position, with a straight back.
2. Take a few deep breaths.
3. Close your eyes and begin to repeat the mantra.
4. Always your attention to the mantra. If you notice that your mind wandering, gently bring your attention to the mantra. Continue to do so throughout the period of meditation.
